To support the personal and professional growth of students, the Division provides Comprehensive Advising, Academic Coaching, and Instructional Support services to ensure student learning, success, and a seamless transfer to other higher education institutions. Our Programs The Associate of Science Degree with a field of study in Biology offers students the opportunity to take a core curriculum of general education courses with an emphasis in Biology. Biology Several certificate and associate degree specializations are available for learning skills needed in the computer, electronics and data industries. Computer and Advanced Technologies The Associate of Science degree with a field of study in Chemistry offers students the opportunity to take a core curriculum of general education with an emphasis in Chemistry. Chemistry The Computer Science programs will empower students to develop and obtain the knowledge, skills, and best practices that are necessary for careers or further studies in the fields of computer science and computer information systems. Computer Science In this program students will learn about computer security, installing security software, network monitoring for security breaches, and responding to cyber-attacks. Cybersecurity The Developmental Mathematics Department at South Texas College is dedicated to helping students acquire the necessary mathematical skills to meet TSI standards and to be successful in academic level mathematics courses. Developmental Math The Associate of Science degree with a field of study in Engineering offers students the opportunity to take a core curriculum of general education with an emphasis on Engineering. Engineering The Information Technology Program offers associate degrees and certificates to gain in-demand skills in IT-related fields including computer applications, networking and multimedia. Information Technology This program provides students with a broad-based education in "college basics" that promotes critical thinking skills and allows for an opportunity to make an informed choice in educational preferences. Interdisciplinary Studies Mathematics majors have many potential career opportunities. They may provide technical assistance in business, engineering science, medicine and many other fields. Mathematics The Associate of Science degree with a field of study in Physics offers students the opportunity to take a core curriculum of general education with an emphasis in Physics. Physics This program prepares the graduate for application to pharmacy school, a 4 year program leading to licensure as a pharmacist. The future of pharmacists is bright with growing demand and an increasing variety of practice settings. Pre-Pharmacy Bachelor Programs This program prepares students with relevant, technical knowledge of CIT practices, in order to provide solutions for real-world problems and technical support for computer-based information systems.
